NEW SOURCE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS TESTING

Our air quality testing staff is certified to conduct the Method 9 testing required to satisfy NSPS Subpart 000 requirements. We will complete all applicable forms and test all applicable equipment at your facility in a timely and cost effective manner.

According to the EPA Regulatory And Inspection Manual For Nonmetallic Mineral Processing Plants (Revised), Subpart 000 designates affected facilities as individual pieces of operating equipment such as screens, storage bins, crushers, etc. that have been manufactured, modified or reconstructed after August 31, 1983. Equipment constructed before August 31, 1983 is exempt from NSPS requirements.

Further, the regulatory standards limit particulate matter emissions from crushers, grinding mills (including air separators, classifiers, and conveyors), screens, bucket elevators, bagging operations, storage bins, enclosed truck and railcar loading operations, and transfer points on belt conveyors.

Unit operations not included are drilling, blasting, loading at the mine, haling drying, stockpiling, conveying (other than transfer points), windblown dust from stockpiles, roads and plant yards, affected facilities located in underground mines, and stand-alone screening operations or any other operations without crushing or grinding.
